Greetings brothers and sisters -

What a blessed day! Our Lord and savior has joined us together to do some wonderful ministry together in Moreno Valley and surrounding areas. Before I get into what I see ministry looking like; who is Shane Freiberg?

I am a lifelong Lutheran who grew up in San Diego in a very loving home. I grew up in the same congregation, and upon graduating from high school in 1993 joined the US Navy later that summer. After 4 years of Active Duty which took me all over the world I came back to San Diego to attend college. Not only did I earn my BA in Spanish, but I met Kristin, my beautiful bride. After working for Lutheran Social Services as a Director for part of San Diego County I answered God’s call to attend seminary and begin exploring my ministry. We entered seminary with one child, and are now leaving with three little blessings. During this time, too, my dad commissioned me as a chaplain in the Naval Reserves.

I see fantastic opportunity at Lord of Life Lutheran. I see great passion and enthusiasm in the members of the call committee which, I am confident, reflects the rest of the congregation. With this energy it is time to go even further into the community and proclaim the Good News of the gospel by what we say and what we do!

The road to Emmaus story is central for me; because it reflects one of our charges as Lutheran Christians to embrace all whom we come in contact with, making it known that Christ is alive and well because He lives in all of us. I am ready to listen to you as a congregation, worship with you as a congregation, and all along listening to what God is calling us to do to ensure that the ministry of Lord of Life Lutheran reaches as many people as possible.

Let us rejoice and be glad in what is on the horizon!
Peace, Shane Freiberg
